Export your tracks to various destinations

To export a recorded or imported track, simply hit the button at the bottom right of an opened track. Trails will give you three options for export.

Select an export destination

Email

If you tap the email button in the export dialogue, you will be asked to enter an email address. A GPX file containing all waypoints of your recorded or imported track will be sent to the email address you specified. You can also set a standard email address under Settings.

The email should be in your inbox within a few minutes. If you don‘t see it in your inbox, make sure to check your spam filter.

Technical note: The email will be sent through the iPhone's built-in mail.app. Make sure to have at least one mail account setup for sending emails.

What can you do with the GPX file?

You can open the GPX file directly in Google Earth (http://earth.google.com) to view your track in 3D. You can also use the GPX file to geotag your photos using software like HoudahGeo (Mac), Geosetter (Win) or GPSPhotolinker (Mac). Check out the website for a tutorial (http://trails.lamouroux.de).

There are many other programs that understand the GPX format. For an extensive list of software visit: http://www.topografix.com/gpx_resources.asp
